  1. Trends: 2017 Furniture

2016 has been an exciting year with the flowing demand for more edgy, contemporary pieces such as traditional pieces with a silver leaf finish. Moving past this however, we welcome what 2017 promises to bring with it!

    Timeless!

Some pieces carry their hype throughout years of holding the flag, one such is our Sophia button upholstered bed which has been revered across our projects and it will continue to be "in" this year. After the interest in more flashy and opulent furnishings, white painted and neutral wooden pieces are to make a grander appearance this year as a ripple effect.

    Up and Coming!

Taking into account the wide variety of interests sparking throughout interior design, we can see that drama and deep character are the reigning qualities to be watched. In response to this, furnishings will take a less eye catching roll and will be intended to compliment vivid wallpapers and paints or complex combinations of accessories. Shabby chic easily clashes with sleek aesthetics whereas more simple designs offer a beautiful appearance to add to the overall effect. It's no longer about the feature wall but an exquisite blend of all ingredients within the room and this can be easily ruined by overdoing a single aspect.

This brings rise to a variety of pastels and neutrals present in a specifically good partner for 2017, upholstery. It maintains an atmosphere of luxury whilst offering an accent rather than overpowering. The same can be said for wooden pieces which can be finished in more subtle paints, also offering a range of choices, painted French style furnishings can mesh perfectly with any interior and are timeless!

    A Blast From the Past!

Shabby chic still finds a place within the mix however, much of the furniture that offers a rustic appeal and perhaps a grander impression also allow for niche colours to be settled into a room. pistachios and a family of darker colours can be brought to life by cooler tones from our Etienne range or dark woods such as mahogany.
