For those who are wondering: Black Friday is traditionally the first day after Thanksgiving. Largely celebrated in America; for many Thanksgiving is the last holiday before Christmas and therefore Black Friday symbolises the beginning of the count down to Christmas. The term 'Black Friday' is an accounting expression that that was coined with reference to writing profits in black and losses in red. Throughout the years stores often saw an increase in profit in the day after thanksgiving and the day was eventually named. christmas-shopping-list-reminder-note-stuck-on-notice-boardWithout doubt anyone celebrating should be preparing for the Christmas break by now and for me that means making sure I have all those finishing touches around the home.
