  • Countdown To Christmas!

Now Black Friday is out of the way, it's time to prepare for the most festive countdown of the year!

I'm starting to practice my Christmas pudding recipes (making a right mess in the kitchen!) Also our showroom has had its winter makeover, with an abundance of Christmas trees, baubles, christmas puddingtinsel and Poinsettia flowers dotted around the place. Going into town is like entering a winter wonderland, the tree is up, the lights are lit, and there's festive goodies in every store. Its really not very long now, as there's only 3 Friday left until Santa comes round!

At the office our Christmas spirit is in full swing as we are giving away a special holiday treat. With every order from the start of December we will also send a free Pintail Candle and a snowflake decoration to can hang on your tree.

  • Has it really been a year already?!

Black Friday will soon be upon us, Christmas is right around the corner and that can only mean New Year will here before we know it! 'Tis the season to be busy, rushed and flustered!Tis the Season

I know for sure that a few of us furniture fanatics will be out searching for some winter bargains and (of course) last minute prezzies on the 28th. Yes that's right! We're making sure we don't miss out on the biggest shopping weekend of the year. Huge sales will be featured across the country, giving a fantastic opportunity   to get your last minute goodies before Christmas...girl

    But what's it all about?

For those who are wondering: Black Friday is traditionally the first day after Thanksgiving. Largely celebrated in America; for many Thanksgiving is the last holiday before Christmas and therefore Black Friday symbolises the beginning of the count down to Christmas. The term 'Black Friday' is an accounting expression that that was coined with reference to writing profits in black and losses in red. Throughout the years stores often saw an increase in profit in the day after thanksgiving and the day was eventually named.

christmas-shopping-list-reminder-note-stuck-on-notice-boardWithout doubt anyone celebrating should be preparing for the Christmas break by now and for me that means making sure I have all those finishing touches around the home. If you're looking to go all-out this year with decorations then a good place to start could be out gifts & accessories collection, we have all sorts of beautiful décor waiting to be ordered; we have even added a few winter warmers such as throws and cushions. So get browsing and prepare for some intense retail therapy on the 28th November.

Also make sure you lookout for my seasonal blog coming soon - it'll be a cracker!

  • Un bel endroit

    A phenomenal place!

Paris; the land of food, drink and fragrance! A perfect getaway for a weekend or (hopefully) longer. A couple of our fabulous Crown French team have enjoyed travelling to Paris for vacations this year and they have all come back with huge smiles on their faces.

‘Exquisite, beautiful and refined at every corner’ is just a few of the ways that the city was described; I think it’s safe to say they have a great time. But why wouldn’t they – it’s phenomenal, the city oozes gothic architecture almost everywhere you go and with such intricate details, you cannot help but have your breath taken away.

It’s without doubt a worthwhile trip. There is so much to see in the city without even having untitledto travel too far; French rulers dating all the way back to the middle-ages have each given the city their own stamp of style, and of course there are plenty of extraordinary monuments and attractions to visit all within walking distance or just a short travel.

Staying in Paris doesn’t even have to be that expensive. The team have given me plenty of tips to save extra money to spend on the experience and here are a few:20141028_111421

    1. Hotels – If you are looking to cut the cost of the hotel so you can spend more in the city why not look into booking a hostel, Paris is full of gorgeous hostels with friendly staff and still fabulous rooms.
    2. Trains – Travel on the Euro Star with the best prices early in the morning or late night, it’s a short and quiet ride from London so you can relax on your way and be fully charged for the day.
    3. Research – Looking into restaurants and attractions can be a real bonus. Often you might find online discounts, or ticket booking options to skip the queues when you get there.Eiffel Tower

    Our favourite places:

    Sainte Chappelle

    The Louvre

    The Eiffel Tower

    The Picasso Museum

You can never be at a loss in this beautiful city. We have a true love for it.
