Enjoy the luxury

The Chateau, Valbonne, Moulin Noir, Versailles and Portofino collections are in general made from a medium grade mahogany timber, sourced from forests which are all part of regeneration programmes. Some of the larger panels in certain items are made from medium destiny fibreboard to ensure complete stability in all environments.

The seven stage finishing programme includes hand sanding, filing, painting, distressing, antique ageing and final sealing. Most of the special techniques come from France and Italy and are replicated from the original methods handed down from Craftsman to Craftsman.

Our carvers are amongst the most skilled in this filed throughout the world and are only allowed to work on our products, if they can consistently reproduce the required quality of carving on a day to day basis.

Feel Royal Luxury with French Furniture

Most people will agree that French furniture is by far the most popular and talked about style, not only today, but it has been for centuries.

When we talk of French furniture, we instantly think of the amazing Versailles palace. It's probably this palace that made French furniture become so well known and sought after all over the world. The French royals loved being surrounded by beautiful possessions, and their furniture had to be sumptuous, lavish, rich and beautiful. Pure luxury!

Is that why we all love French furniture? Is it that we just want to experience a bit of royal luxury? Many people would say no, but in the back of their minds, that's probably what they desire.

And what's wrong with wanting to feel a slice of royal luxury by owning a few furniture pieces? The great thing about the times we live in is that French reproduction furniture is affordable and easy to find.

We can furnish our modern homes with stunning French style furniture thanks to the work of many cabinet makers who have successfully achieved to re-create the furniture made famous by French monarchs such as Louis XV.

There are designers, manufacturers and interior decorators that specialize in French style, and can bring the royal luxury into your home. Rococo and Baroque are probably two of the most popular styles, and the secret is not going over the top. It's not about recreating Versailles in your home, it's about bringing a bit of its splendour and charm into your life.

French furniture wasn't only made to furnish palaces and chateaux; it was also created with small and warm houses in mind too. Rococo and Neo-Classical styles have gifted us with graceful, delicate furniture, practical in shape and size. They are in fact two of the favourites among designers and home owners alike when decorating homes in a French style. So pick a few pieces of furniture, a grand mirror and a gorgeous chandelier, and enjoy the French royal feel.

The Ageless Charm of French Furniture

Remember, French style furniture is not a trend. Fashion trends come and go, but French furniture is timeless!

French furniture is opulent, charming, graceful, beautiful, sumptuous and luxurious, but above all, it's timeless.

This is something that can't be said about any other furniture style. Trends come and go. What was fashionable in the 1930's was out of fashion in the 1960's. And what was trendy in the 70's is dated and old in current times.

The key not to go out of fashion is not use any fashion trends and stick to ageless charm. And the safest way to achieve that is doing it the French way!

The French have always had an innate ability to create beauty, and they've always loved to surround themselves with beautiful possessions and live in stunning homes. The furniture and home accessories they've gifted the world with through the centuries proves this statement.

From Renaissance style to Art-deco, French furniture has always been avant-garde, adored and desired. The French have always stamped their creations with timeless elegance. A Baroque mirror, a Rococo Bed or a Neo-classical armoire are just as beautiful and wanted today as they were centuries ago.

How have they achieved something like this? In my opinion, throughout the history French furniture designers have created art. If instead of designing a dressing table, you design a work of art in the form of a dressing table, you ensure your design will survive for centuries. In France creating furniture has always been a decorative art, not an industry. This concept has ensured that in the 21st century furniture lovers know about Louis XV chairs, Rococo mirrors and Baroque armoires. The French didn't create furniture, they created art that would pass the test of time. The ageless beauty, the graceful designs, and the beautiful designs of French furniture are a perfect choice for our modern homes.

Furnishing your Bedroom

When it comes to furnishing bedrooms, the must have piece is a fabulous bed. The Versailles style beds or the French Chateau ones are more popular than ever, and add that unmistakably French luxury touch that you were craving for long. If your budget is limited, a really good alternative to buying a complete bed frame is to buy an affordable divan bed, and glam it up with a Rococo headboard.

If you're still within budget, spoil yourself and get two luxurious Venetian bedside tables. Moreover, if you don't mind going over-budget, don't hesitate to buy a silver embossed console table. It would look great in the hall, the living room, or even the bedroom. Some console tables are very versatile, and can be used as dressing tables - a must have in every woman's bedroom. If you choose one that can be used either way, place it in your bedroom, compliment it with a beautiful silver Rococo mirror, and spend some time making sure you look as great as your house!

The Joys of Antique Reproduction Furniture

Many of us share a love for Old World tradition and the classic elegance to be found in a fine piece of English or Continental antique furniture, but few of us can afford the four or five figure price tag that comes with the genuine article. Fortunately there is a solution. Antique reproduction furniture can provide the same look and feel at a fraction of the cost. In fact, you can enjoy a high quality reproduction of an antique item that could otherwise only be found in a museum or royal palace for little more than you would pay for the typical contemporary mass-produced item of the High Street.

From the traditional old English designs of the Georgian, Victorian, and Edwardian Eras to the unparalleled opulence of the court of Louis XV and the French Empire, the timeless designs of the Old World offer inspiration to a wide array of tastes.

Apart from furniture, high quality antique reproductions can bring a variety of practical as well as decorative treasures to life. With fine porcelain, glassware, silver and silver plate wares, bronzes, clocks, and a wide range of other unique antique decorative pieces often carrying price tags as high as those on furniture, reproductions of these kinds of items can as well bring enjoyment and splendour without breaking the bank.

Find an established specialist who deals in both antique as well as reproduction items that understands the difference between the two and represents them accurately. Use of the terms style” or in the manner of” generally mean that the item is a contemporary or vintage reproduction. The terms antique,” period,” and circa” will usually mean that the piece is original to the historical era mentioned and much more expensive!
